Expect awards

Congratulations, Chloe

Chloe Lewis has been named the Expect More of Yourself Winner at the AVK 2026 Expect Awards 04-03-2026

The ‘Expect More of Yourself’ award celebrates colleagues who go beyond their day-to-day responsibilities and demonstrate exceptional commitment, creativity and dedication to delivering excellence.

Although Chloe’s day job is Business Support Assistant, she received her Expect Award in recognition of the outstanding contribution she has made to organising and delivering major AVK events across the UK. Most notably, Chloe played a pivotal role in the successful employee and customer celebrations marking AVK’s 40th anniversary.

Her Expect Award citation recognised her professionalism, creativity and reliability, describing her as a shining example of dedication and teamwork.  Chloe was also part of the team responsible for organising the Expect Awards 2026 — though the outcome remained a closely guarded secret.

Chloe was also part of the team responsible for organising the Expect Awards 2026 — though the outcome remained a closely guarded secret.

Reflecting on the moment she found out she had won, Chloe said:

‘I was part of the team organising the Expect Awards 2026 and I must say that Emily and Lee kept the results very close to their chests. It was a surprise and a delight to win an Expect Award.’

The large-scale customer event presented its fair share of challenges, but Chloe embraced the pressure.

‘The customer AVK event was very stressful, although I found that, weirdly, I enjoyed the stress and the challenge. I like to throw myself in at the deep end and challenge myself wherever possible, as that’s the only place I can really grow.’

Chloe credits the strength of the team dynamic for the success of the events, particularly the balance she shares with colleague Emily.

‘I have really enjoyed working with Emily on all of the AVK events, probably because we have such different characters. I’m a control freak who likes to manage every last piece of the jigsaw, whereas Emily is calmer and more relaxed in her approach.’

For Chloe, meticulous planning and structure are essential to successful delivery.

‘Detailed planning and structure are essential, as they enable us to respond effectively when things don’t run as smoothly as they should. My mantra is, “don’t panic, deal with it”.’

That mindset proved invaluable when an unexpected supplier issue threatened part of the Expect Awards event. When the original supplier of Welsh cakes withdrew at the last minute, Chloe and the team quickly worked with the team at Ansty Hall to find a solution. The hotel’s chef handmade a fresh batch in time for the event — much to the delight of attendees.

The event itself ran seamlessly, with overwhelmingly positive feedback from guests.

‘I love organising and attending events like these; the best part for me is watching my ideas flourish and come to life, and seeing everyone enjoy them. When you start the event planning process, everything is just an idea, so to see it all come together is truly amazing and I love learning something new from every event.’

Chloe’s passion for continuous improvement, her attention to detail and her willingness to step outside her formal role make her a truly deserving recipient of the Expect More of Yourself Award.
