Mental Health & Wellbeing Awards Wales 2026
The event was an opportunity to share our progress, recognise our colleagues’ commitment and hear what wellbeing at work means to others. 14-10-2026
Our journey: 2017 to today
Our mental health and wellbeing journey began in 2017. At this year’s event, we displayed a special roadmap showing how our approach has developed over nearly ten years.
The roadmap brought together the people and initiatives that have helped shape our workplace culture, including:
- Mental Health First Aiders
- Menopause Champions
- Our Social Committee
- Mental health and wellbeing awareness campaigns
- Activities and initiatives supporting colleagues across Atplas and the wider AVK family
Recognition for Sharon Lewis
A huge congratulations to our HR Manager, Sharon Lewis, who was once again a finalist for Wellbeing Champion of the Year, having won the award in 2025.
This recognition reflects Sharon’s ongoing commitment to creating a positive, supportive workplace and keeping mental health and wellbeing firmly on the agenda.
What makes a positive difference at work?
Sharon, Chloe and Alison represented Atplas on our stand, speaking with attendees about our journey and inviting them to answer one question:
“What positively impacts your mental health and wellbeing at work?”
The same themes came up time and again: supportive colleagues, positive relationships, approachable managers, open communication, transparency and feeling valued.
People also highlighted the importance of enjoying work and having opportunities to connect with those around them.
These conversations were a reminder that wellbeing is shaped by our everyday experiences: how we speak to one another, how we listen and how supported we feel.
